Welcome to the very first post on The Witty Gritty Life! Have you ever had a dream that has stayed in the back of your mind even though you kept finding excuses over and over to push it off? Writing this blog is that dream for me. I can’t begin to tell you how many times I have talked myself out of it only to discover that I couldn’t. So I went for it and bless you for being here, reading this first post, the birth of a brandnew blog.
Blogging, as I have come to find out while researching this venture, is a journey, just like life itself. I am excited to see where this one takes me. There are so many things I want to share with you! Above all I look forward to meeting you, my reader, hearing from you in the comments and learning new things along the way. There are several blogs that have played a big role in my life. They have taught me, entertained and amused me and at times pulled me out of a deep funk. It is my deepest hope that you will find the something you are looking for on The Witty Gritty Life. Please be sure to poke around a little, to get to know more about my little sliver of the internet.
So what exactly is my vision for this blog? Above all I hope to be able to provide you with solutions to help you make your life better a little bit at a time. As I mentioned above, I am an avid blog reader myself. Even though I am always exploring blogs, I felt there was room for a blog written by someone who has lived a little more life. Most of the blogs I found are written by women who are considerably younger than me. Gosh, I feel old just typing that, but it is the truth. I have been blessed with an interesting life that has taught me a lot of valuable lessons. It would be such a shame to not put them to good use, don’t you think? If there is one thing my many mistakes have taught me it is this: It is often better to learn from someone elses mistakes!
I named this blog The Witty Gritty Life because that’s what you have to have to get through some of it. Much of what is found on the internet, in blogs and on various social media platforms tends to be an idealized version of life. Most of us don’t live lives that aren’t always picture perfect. You know what? That is how it should be. I want this blog to be a place for it all, the good, the bad and the ugly. If you appreciate a dose of reality without airbrushing out the raw parts, you have found the blog for you!
